Community United Methodist is a small church with fewer than 100 members. It has a one-hour service on Sunday from 10:30am - 11:30am. Its church partner is the United Methodist Church of Savage. The Rev. Douglas Fox is the pastor of both churches.
Hunt's Church Preschool accepts two- through four-year-olds, putting them in a nurturing environment in which to grow, learn and thrive. Activities are appropriate for development and designed to stimulate growth intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically. The preschool employs faculty members who are degree holders and certified in CPR and first aid.
North of the Glenmont Metro Station, this church is led by Pastor Lee Brewer. Ongoing church outreach includes a food pantry the last Saturday of every month, and supporting ministry in Zambia. Every Tuesday and Saturday, the church also raises money through a thrift shop on the premises.
It rents space to other religious organizations as well, including a Wednesday night Bible study, and a Spanish-language congregation.

Glyndon United Methodist Church is a traditional Christian church. It is a beautiful building, and one of the areas oldest structures. The church is very active in the community, participating in Habitat for Humanity and donating food to the Community Crisis Center. The congregation has youth and adult choirs and also offers fellowship programs to its members. Services are held twice daily led by pastor Norman Obenshain. The building is easily recognized by the bell tower peeking out above the trees on Butler Street.
The Bethesda United Methodist Church is located along Old Georgetown Road, one of Bethesda's major thoroughfares. The church community of about 500 congregants got its start around 1951. Its motto of "wash more feet" is indicative of its commitment to an attitude of service and commitment to the Christian faith. BUMC parishioners also make it a point to get involved with the community, often participating in service projects for youth and adults for causes such as Habitat for Humanity.
Rockland United Methodist Church was founded in 1901 as Trinity United Evangelical Church of Jonestown. Its name changed in 1920 to Trinity Church of Rockland, and again in 1960 to Rockland United Methodist. The church encourages members to do volunteer work in the greater community. To that end, congregants host a monthly community prayer breakfast and worships monthly at the Ellicott City Health and Rehab Center. Rockland also offers a music ministry, and men's and women's prayer groups.
At the Timonium United Methodist Church, emphasis is placed on helping your neighbors. The church is engaged in a number of community service programs including helping local families in need as well as with its four monthly visits to a soup kitchen in Mt. Vernon. The church was founded in 1906 and has stood at its location along Pot Spring Road since 1965.
This congregation was already meeting when they bought their plot of land from Thomas Hamilton Arnold for $5 in 1859. Their church building was finished by 1888 and underwent a renovation in 2003. The church grounds, which also house a Fellowship Hall, preschool program and after care clubhouse, are located along Church Road, the turnoff spot for Arnold Elementary School's entrance. Because of its proximity to that school, the church developed an after care program for students of both the elementary school and its middle school Severn River.
The congregation is very active with local missions, offering an annual winter relief week for homeless men, as well as partnerships with the Salvation Army and Anne Arundel County Food Bank. There are men, women and youth programs, in addition to a busy music schedule for their church choruses and handbell choir.
Bixlers United Methodist Church is part of the Baltimore Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church. The ministry of this church is based on teaching, preaching and healing. Bixlers United Methodist is a historic church that began as a log cabin in 1877. The current red brick church was built in 1904.
