Since 1862, Mills has grown to become a renowned liberal arts college, known as a center for modern dance and contemporary music. Mills Hall is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. This 135-acre campus, nestled in the foothills of Oakland, is a sanctuary in the middle of the city.
