World Taekwondo Academy offers training, athletics and discipline for students. It instructs students in Taekwondo-style martial arts for self-defense, training, athletic development and competition. World Taekwondo Academy is based in the Torrey Hills Center.
Family Karate is a martial arts studio that bases all of its classes on the five tenets of taekwondo. The studio is led by Joe Carroll, who is a 5th-degree black belt. Along with his teachers he aims to teach students courtesy, cooperation and concentration. Classes for preschool children through adults are offered. Classes include self-defense, self-control, physical conditioning and more.
West Coast Martial Arts Academy provides classes in Kempo karate, parkour, Zumba, tai chi and eskrima. It welcomes adults and children of all skill levels. West Coast Martial Arts Academy maintains an additional facility in Encinitas.
The Center for Martial Arts offers a wide variety of traditional and after-school martial arts programs designed for children and adults. Classes are offered at different belt levels in Tang Soo Do/ Korean Karate.
Nestor United Methodist Church & Community Center for the Arts is a center that nurtures people of all ages and backgrounds, encouraging them to be disciples of Jesus Christ. The church offers educational classes where attendees will learn about the Bible and its content, choir for the youth, prayer quilt ministry and more. Attached to the church is the Community Center for the Arts, a place for people to learn, teach, perform and grow. As an organization that fosters learning, it has classes for arts and crafts, dance, exercise and stretching, martial arts, music and choir, and photography. Private lessons are available.
