Elite Kicks Martial Arts Academy is located in the shopping center at the foot of the Park Street bridge on Alameda's north side. Elite Kicks teaches Tae Kwon Do to adults and children, starting at four years of age. Students learn forms, sparring and discipline. Elite Kicks also offers after school pick-up, child care and training for grade school children.
Alameda Tae Kwon Do Academy provides classes in Karate and Tae Kwon Do. The academy follows the rules set forth by the World Tae Kwon Do Federation. Classes take place Monday through Friday. They participate in several different competitions per year.
With two sites in the Bay Area for more than 35 years, West-Wind School is the "oldest and largest Karate school" in Alameda. West-Wind honors the deep tradition and classical styling of bok fu ("the Way of the White Tiger," a Chinese system of martial arts), with a wide range of martial arts and boxing classes and authentic Asian decor. In addition, West-Wind School operates an accredited K-12 private academy where students are simultaneously educated according to California state requirements and trained daily in martial arts, at tWest-Wind's two Bay Area campuses. The school enrolls approximately 400-500 permanent students at any given time, in more than a hundred weekly individual and group classes. West-Wind offers a $100 Karate Kid special and encourages all Alamedans to train in "the Way of the White Tiger."
Located adjacent to the Bay Trail on the Harbor Bay waterfront, Alameda Martial Arts offers a comprehensive program of traditional and mixed martial arts. Classes are designed to suit participants of all skill levels and are affordably priced without an annual contract. Eight week introductory classes begin year round.
This spacious and very well equipped studio offers training in the external and internal forms of the Chinese Martial Arts for children age 3-years-old up to adults. The emphasis is on providing not just an exercise program alternative, but in depth instruction and a life enhancing experience through this ancient mind, body and spirit discipline. Harmonious movements, balance, strenght and flexibility are nurtured together with patience, respect, concentration, self-motivation and control. Instructors are highly qualified and decorated.
An after school program is available during the school year and students are escorted and transported from their Alameda elementary school to the sudio. Snacks and homework help are also provided. In the summer, it offers fun camps incorporating additional training.
The studio also offers Cardio and Power Kickboxing, as well as Women Self-Defense classes.
