About Interplastic Corporation Interplastic Corporation has been an industry leader in thermoset resin, gel coat and colorant research, design and development since 1959. Our chemists and engineers work closely with Interplastics customers and suppliers to develop innovative solutions for product, manufacturing, and marketplace challenges. Our goal is to help composites and cast polymer manufacturers build better, longer-lasting products. Interplastic has strategically placed itself to meet the diversified needs of its customers by expanding its manufacturing capabilities and by investing in product research. Our five full-service product development laboratories are located in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota; Fort Wright, Kentucky; Hawthorne, California; and South Bend, Indiana. In addition, all of our manufacturing facilities and research and development laboratories are ISO 9001: 2008 certified. The Minneapolis, Ft. Wright, Pryor, Kent, and Hawthorne facilities are also ISO 14001: 2004 certified. Interplastic has three divisions - Thermoset Resins (TRD), Molding Products (MPD) and North American Composites (NAC) - that enable the corporation to respond to fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) and cast polymer manufacturers in a wide range of industries in order to meet their needs. Interplastic Corporation acquired Silmar Resins from British Petroleum in 1993. They then became one of the worlds largest casting and solid surface resin producers in the world with facilities in California and Kentucky. When manufacturers are looking for low color (clear) resins for filled and clear castings, Silmar is the worlds premier brand. With its 45-year history of quality and reproducibility, Silmar is able to meet the toughest customer demands. Interplastic introduced its line of Silmar clear gel coats in 2004. As a leader of cutting edge technology, we grow to meet the needs of the composites industry. Our CoREZYN CompuColor System is an exclusive computer system that provides gel coat distributors with the ability to quickly and precisely color-match gel coats at their own facilities. CompuColor saves our distributors time and money. Molding Products Division In 1978, Interplastic Corporation established the Molding Products Division in South Bend, Indiana. It supplies custom-formulated sheet molding compounds (SMC) to the compression molding industry. Interplastic has expanded the divisions capabilities to include a prototype mold service, which provides solutions for its customers ideas - from concept to the final product. This enables the Molding Products Division to assist customers with on-site evaluations, mold design, and construction. The Molding Products Division helps give shape to hundreds of diverse products in industries such as marine, communication, transportation, sporting goods, aerospace, and medical. North American Composites North American Composites (NAC) is a wholly owned distributor of composite materials representing all of Interplastic Corporations Thermoset Resins Division product lines, as well as, those of the other leading producers of resins, gel coats, initiators, fiberglass reinforcements, core materials, equipment, and other related composite products. Over the past 30 years, NAC has grown into a nationwide distributor through the creation of regional warehouse centers and a series of strategic business acquisitions. Today, NAC provides local service with national coverage through more than 26 distribution centers in the United States and Canada. NAC sales representatives have a thorough knowledge of the various product lines and the applications for which they are best suited to meet our customers demanding requirements. Our sales representatives work closely with specialists from each of our supplier partners to further enhance our customer support activities. NAC exclusively serves the composites and cast polymer industries.
