A massive neighborhood hardware store, Anawalt Lumber tends to North Hollywood's hardware, lumber and fix-it needs. The large parking lot out front boasts a couple of easily recognizable neighborhood characters—Anawalt's lumber-toting elephant logo on either side of the front doors, and the carved wooden lumberjack that stands in the far corner of the lot. Inside the store, customers are greeted by knowledgeable salespeople who are quick with a tape measure or handy piece of advice. It's a family-owned place, and the clean, well-organized aisles and displays seem to beam with pride. In addition to lumber, power tools, paint, fixtures and hardware, here's also a massive selection of nuts and bolts, many of which are hard to find elsewhere. Delivery is available with a minimum order.
