The public library is located in the Greendale historic downtown. People of all ages can be seen on the library's computers and searching for their next read in-between the book shelves. One can find all types of resources and information at the library, including community events, programming and opportunities.
Area residents enjoy this modern, attractive, active library. It checked out over 329,000 items last year and 16,000 questions were asked of its skilled staff. The library features wireless internet service, an expansive children's section, comfortable reading nooks, multi-media assets, lectures, discussions and numerous special events. The library is a shared service of Sussex and Lisbon.
The new library was opened in 2009 and features services for adults, teens and children such as book discussions and story-time readings throughout the year. An extensive catalogue of books, DVDs and other resources offer something for everyone. The library is also a great place to volunteer, either by assisting the staff during special events or dedicating time to a specific program.
