Originally opened by a group of women in a real estate office in 1929, the Penn Wynne Library has grown to serve thousands of residents of Penn Wynne and Wynnewood each year as one of six libraries in the Lower Merion Library System.

At around 40,000 items, the library has a similar collection size to the Ardmore and Gladwyne libraries, and hosts a variety of educational programs throughout the year.

The Philadelphia Archdiocesan Historical Research Center was created in 1989. It is the home of the archives for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia as well as a museum and library. The Center also holds a collection for the American Catholic Historical Society  In addition to local documents, the center also contains materials documenting Catholicism at the National level.
