This 36,000 square-foot building has served as the city's library since February 2007. The staff offers story-time, youth and adult book clubs and library materials delivery for those who are home-bound, among other programs. The library also includes a meeting room for educational and cultural programs hosted by area non-profit groups.

As of April 30, 2010, the collection included more than 43,700 books, more than 1,400 DVDs, and more than 2,600 books on CD.

The Lincoln Park Public Library is a place of resource and learning for the community. It houses books, CD, DVDs and BluRays, periodicals, reference books, audiobooks and other materials for study and borrowing. Additionally, the center offers meeting rooms and scheduled events.

The Clarendon Hills Public library was founded in 1963 by a group of volunteers. Today, volunteers continue to play a large role in its operations. About 35 volunteers currently donate more than 3,900 hours every year to helping with the library's services and programs. Volunteers from all over the community also help maintain the Remembrance Garden outside the library that was made possible by donations and built in 2004.

The Kane County Law Library and Self-Help Legal Center offers free legal resources for residents in need of counsel, as well as attorneys and governmental employees. A large selection of law texts are available in the main library in the Kane County Judicial Center.

Computers also are available for research and patrons can use conference rooms for private consultations. The library is continually trying to find new programs and services for those in need of free legal advice.

Located in the heart of downtown, the Glencoe Public Library is the place to check out a new title, an old favorite, or relax in the company of classic literature. The library offers programming for adults, children and teens, from discussion groups to storytimes.

Members can search for titles in the library's online catalog and access electronic resources from home. By entering a library card number, cardholders can download audiobooks and ebooks, access LexisNexis and other many other online databases and archives. Staff members also run a blog with reviews and recommendations.

The library accepts book donations in boxes located just inside the main door. Friends of the Library hosts three book sales each year.

Established over 100 years ago, Edwardsville Public Library is one of the oldest libraries in Illinois. Based in Edwardsville, Ill., the library offers a plethora of services, such as usage of Internet/computers, copying, faxing, homebound delivery, technology recycling and test proctoring, to name a few. It also offers a variety of programs for kids, including infant story times, puppet shows, teen poetry and gaming. In addition to providing digital-library facility, the library hosts several events, such as adult-movie matinee, teen advisory board meeting and teen-poetry cafe.
