Yavneh Day School is a program for children from preschool age to junior high. It is located at the Jewish Community Center. It offers a number of educational programs with small class sizes divided by age. Lessons are taught in areas such as math, reading and Hebrew. There is a strong emphasis on preparing students to meet or exceed their grade level expectations.
The Los Gatos Saratoga Observation Nursery School is a nonprofit preschool that teaches children ages 2-5 how to connect with nature. It's located in the mountainous area of Los Gatos and next to Lakeside Elementary School. The school is a parent-participation campus, meaning parents are required to attend one class per week with their children. They must also attend parent education meetings. The school was founded in 1956, but the small charming, old-fashioned red schoolhouse where it's currently located was built in 1917.
Mulberry School is a private, parent-participation preschool and elementary school founded in 1963 by American Association of University Women members. The school moved to its present Los Gatos location from San Jose in 2006. It has an enrollment of more than 200 students and offers different day programs based on the children's ages. The school's director is Patti Wilczek.
Venture Christian Church serves Los Gatos and the Bay Area. Located on Hicks Road, the church is open on both Saturday and Sunday for services and regularly hosts a variety of community events.
St. Mary's Catholic Church is located in downtown Los Gatos. The church offers convenient, daily services. This location also hosts St. Mary's Catholic school, providing children a private, parochial school environment.
Hillbrook School is a private school, for kindergarten through grade eight. It has been accredited by the National Association of Independent Schools and the California Association of Independent Schools. The school has an enrollment of 315 students and 50 faculty members. The school's annual budget is $8 million. Its mission is to maintain balance between academics and childhood. The school features science labs, a state-of-the-art library, outdoor gardens, several play areas, a creek and a chicken coop. The head principal is Mark Silver. It has a challenging curriculum that includes reading, writing, math, problem solving, critical thinking skills, challenges, choices, structure, intellectual inquiry and confidence.
