Located in Shrewsbury, Mass., Oak Middle School serves students in grades six through eight. The school offers various performing arts, speech and debate and athletic programs. In addition, its pilot mathematics program is based on three decades of experience and research and has been recognized by the Department of Education and the American Association for the Advancement of Science for its exemplary curriculum. Oak Middle School presents winter and spring concerts that feature band, orchestra and chorus groups. The school offers various cocurricular activities, including Science Olympiad, ski club, speech team, cross country and fall intramurals. Additionally, the school offers food services and organizes cultural events and shows. Oak Middle School is a part of Shrewsbury Public Schools.

The Shrewsbury School Department is located at 100 Maple Ave. in the town hall. They serve one preschool, a centralized kindergarten program, four elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school.

The School Committee is also part of the School Department. It consists of five members: Chair Sandry Fryc, and members: Erin Canzano, B. Dale Magee, Mark Murray and Steve Levine.
