The Education Cooperative (TEC) provides students with unique opportunities to explore future career direction through the innovative Internship Program. TECs Internship program provides a meaningful, hands-on experience in a supervised professional environment that helps to encourage students to realize their full potential. Our internships are time-limited work experiences with defined goals that take place in a professional work setting of varying types. TEC Internships are one important way students can gain experience and begin to make contact with their chosen careers. These opportunities are available to both high school and college students. Call it project-based, shadowing or working independently, the main purpose is that students gain benefits such as: This opportunity allows students to visualize their futures. It can provide each intern with the opportunity to identify likes and dislikes regarding certain careers, departments in a company, office atmospheres, etc. Students should consider these internships as a "test-drive" of a career. TEC high school internships are available to students who have finished two years of high school and complete the initial assessment screening process. TECs Signature Internship experience is a custom 60-hour internship over a period of a minimum of four consecutive weeks in the summer or 8-10 consecutive weeks, over three months, during the academic school year. The Joyce Middle School is one of two middle schools serving the city of Woburn. At Joyce, more than 70 staff members work with 500-plus students every day.

Homework is generally given to students every night. Minimum homework is usually 60 minutes of work, four nights a week for sixth-graders, 90 minutes nightly for seventh-graders and two hours nightly for eighth-graders.

Report cards are issued to students four times a year in November, January, April and June. High honor roll and honor roll awards are presented every marking period. 

The Woburn Public Schools Administrative Offices are located at the Joyce Middle School. Superintendent Mark Donovan's office is on the main floor of the administration building at Joyce.
