THE SHAPE OF LIES® opened its doors in New Yorks East Village in 1979. So far as we know were the only Mom & Pop residential store left in the neighborhood. We boast both an original tin ceiling and a real wooden screen door! As our neighbors know; when the lights on you can always knock for gifting emergencies....we live in back!We support designers who produce their products right here in Manhattan. The goal is to have only items made in North America and the New York metropolitan area in particular. So far so good, lots of talent close at hand.We also carry our own Ancient Artisans collection of museum replica jewelry. This includes unusual Celtic and Greek & Roman designs only available at our shop.When you visit well be tell you a little local history and recommend some local eateries. After all half the fun of "shopping” the East Village is “eating” the East Village. Cheers!
