Avemco Insurance Company provides aviation insurance for pilots and aircrafts, specializing in property and casualty insurance for pleasure and business aircraft owners and pilots. Avemco has consistently offered insurance to senior pilots; owners of older aircraft, conventional gear, fixed tricycle gear, retracts, twins, gliders and seaplanes; and often both at the same time. In fact, the company is one of the only direct writers of aviation insurance in the United States and is licensed in all 50 states. Avemco is a wholly owned subsidiary of HCC Insurance Holdings. In conjunction with HCC Benefits Corporation, Avemco added a medical stop-loss product to its specialty insurance portfolio. Founded in 1961, Avemco Insurance Company maintains headquarters in Frederick, Md.
