Gas Technology Institute is a nonprofit research, development and training organization that serves energy markets by developing technology-based solutions for consumers, industry and government. The organization provides products, services and information that help customers solve problems or capitalize on opportunities related to finding, producing, delivering and using natural gas. More than 800 patents and approximately 400 products have resulted from GTI-led technology developments. GTI was created in 2000, by the combination of Gas Research Institute and the Institute of Gas Technology. Headquartered in Des Plaines, Ill., the organization also operates offices and facilities in Washington D.C., Catoosa, Okla., and Houston. It also works closely with several regional gas associations and other groups to help transfer technologies to users and gain a customer perspective on technology needs.
