Adopt-A-Pet Fenton serves as an animal shelter for up to 12 dogs and 12 cats as they wait for a new home. The company is funded strictly by donations and runs a continual bottle drive at the site. The organization has been at its current location since 2006. It offers several spay and neuter programs.
Five Acres Animal Shelter (formerly the St. Charles Humane Society) is a no-kill shelter that accepts and adopts dogs and cats. Animals available for adoption can be viewed during normal business hours. An appointment is necessary to surrender a cat or dog. The shelter finds homes for over 500 animals each year. The Shelter offers presentations for the community about animals and animal topics free of charge. Boy and girl scout groups and school groups are also welcome to take shelter tours.
