The New Rochelle Municipal Housing Authority works to provide safe and comfortable housing for low-income residents, especially families, senior citizens and the disabled. According to the NRMHA Web site, "800 families are currently living in NRMHA communities throughout the city."

Buildings owned by the NRMHA include 50 Sickles Avenue (pictured) and 111 Lockwood Avenue, which house senior citizens, and Hartley Houses (Winthrop and Horton Avenues), 345 Main Street and 361 Main Street, which house families.

The NRMHA also runs the Family Self-Sufficiency Program, which helps low-income families find resources, educational programs and economic assistance to better their lives.
