Hunters Run Stables is a family-owned equestrian training and boarding facility with 27 stalls, an indoor ring, an outdoor sand ring and trails on 300 acres of land. Owners Joe and Renee Scarpantonia have run the facility since 1994. Three schooling hunter shows take place annually, as well as private shows for boarders. Hunter Run Stables conducts summer camps and hosts birthday parties.
Kelsey Farms is located on Lake Avenue outside of downtown Greenwich. This business is an equestrian center on a large property. The center offers horse riding lessons, both in standard disciplines and jumping and horse shows. Call for more information.
Silvermine Farm is a horse stable. The stable specializes in boarding, training, instruction and sales of horses. The owners, Ken and Andrea Markowski, also provide riding instruction classes to students of all ages.
Saddle up at Larkspur Farm, a full-service 36-horse facility situated on 151 acres in Wilton. Larkspur provides year-round lessons as well as boarding, show grounds and summer camps for children. Horses and ponies are also available for sale or lease.
New Canaan Mounted Troop, Inc. (“NCMT”) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational and charitable youth organization which offers horseback riding and equine care programs that build leadership, responsibility and confidence through sound horsemanship. The Riding Program offers a rich curriculum in equine care, hunt-seat riding, and showmanship. Summer riding camp, group lessons, birthday parties and adult lessons are also offered, based upon availability.
NCMT has a new, state-of-the-art facility featuring a 140’ x 200’ outdoor ring, a 72’ x160’ indoor ring, 30 stalls (10’ x 10’ and 10’ x 12’), several all-weather turnout paddocks for year-round turnout, grass paddocks, tack room, offices, horse laundry facilities, the Learning Center, and a locker room for our Troopers. As part of its initiative to be as eco-friendly as possible, the facility boasts a geothermal heat pump, which uses natural heat from the earth and groundwater to heat and cool the barn.
Located in the luscious country setting of West Granby, Valkyrie Equestrian Center (VEC) is a full-service English riding facility, welcoming ages 6 and up. Owner, Carolyn Joseph Mainardi, opened VEC in 1999 and sincerely loves training horses and teaching students. The center, which is open during the spring, summer and fall, leases horses and offers boarding care. VEC also provides full lesson programs for all experience levels, and a summer riding camp where members learn horsemanship and prepare for shows in a hands-on environment.
Seven J's Farm is a spacious and scenic equestrian facility owned and operated by the Vully family of Glastonbury. Seven J's offers boarding with 28 stalls as well as lessons and training for all ages and skill levels. A large outdoor arena and lighted indoor ring with a heated viewing room offer year-round programs. The specialties are hunter, jumper and equitation. The summer program is extensive.
