The Denver Children s Home, founded in 1876, provides residential and outpatient care for troubled children in the greater Denver area. The organization offers residential treatment, a day treatment program, an after school program, in-home treatment and the Bansbach Academy, a full-time accredited school. As one of the only residential treatment centers that refuses to turn away indigent clients, Denver Children s Home works with public and private insurance in an attempt to cover its costs. To pay for expenses not covered by insurance, the Denver Children s Home development department raises funds and holds special events. In 1902, the home moved to its current location at 1501 Albion Street. It is a 50-room complex designed by prominent Denver architects Willis A. Marean and Albert J. Norton. The buildings interior looks the same as the day it was built in 1902.
