Established in 1912, the Tacoma Rescue Mission is a Christian nonprofit organization that provides clothing and housing options for men, women and children. It also offers money and anger management programs and job and life skills training. Hope's Treasures, a thrift store operated by the Good Shepherd Alliance. Whether it's clothing, shoes, CDs, furniture, electronics, jewelry, purses, toys, books or a myriad of other needs you're after, it might not hurt to try this store first. A nearly new Greg Norman golf shirt, an untouched Jimi Hendrix t-shirt, brand new athletic shirts with the tags still on them, barely used dress shoes, nice sport jackets are all here on the racks. Proceeds from the store, along with other donations help support the GSA's mission. The GSA is a nonprofit Christian organization with stated goal of assisting women, children and families in crisis. The primary assistance provided includes emergency shelter, food, clothing, children's programs, counseling and transitional housing for pregnant women. Headquartered at the Ashburn Road location, the alliance also has a thrift store in Sterling.

Adult Day Services of Orange County is a licensed, private, nonprofit center that has been in operations for more than 25 years. The organization offers day programs to meet the needs of persons in the early to the late stages of dementia. The centers New Connections Club offers structured therapies and recreational outings for persons in the early stage of dementia. In the onsite Social Program, those with moderate to severe dementia receive supervision and assistance. In the Adult Day Health Care Program, participants whose condition is complicated by dementia receive a full range of professional services including nursing care and rehabilitative therapies. The organization has partnered with two institutions - the Institute for Brain Aging and Dementia at the University of California, Irvine, and Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. It is based in Huntington Beach, Calif.
