Logistics & Environmental Support Services provides specialized support services to the United States Department of Defense. The company was founded in 1992 as a minority woman-owned, small business. In January 1995, LESCO received a Small Business Administration Section 8(a) certification with a primary focus of providing logistics, engineering and environmental support services to government and commercial clients. In 2002, LESCO changed its name to Logistics & Environmental Support Services. The company subsequently added services, including aviation and missile system base operations, programmatics, weapon system acquisition, system engineering, business process reengineering, information management services, food management services and base operations support. LESCO graduated from the 8a program in January 2004 and is now a certified small disadvantaged and woman owned business. LESCO was deployed in seven countries, including Afghanistan and Iraq, during Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. The company is headquartered in Fort Riley, Kan., and operates offices throughout the United States, Korea and the Middle East.
