The BirthPlace at Jordan Hospital provides specialized expert care in order to safely facilitate the birthing experience for mother and child. Its board certified Obstetricians team with certified nurse midwives (CNM) and registered nurses (RN) to care for women with both low and high risk pregnancies. Personal choice in pain management is encouraged. There are twelve private LDRP suites available for labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum. Couplet care, in which mother and baby are cared for by the same nurse, is practiced at the BirthPlace, and a Well Newborn Nursery is available from 11:30pm until 6am. A state-of-the-art operating room is available within the BirthPlace, with specialized staff that is on call 24 hours a day.
