The Physicians Pain Center was formed in July 2002, by Drs. Elena Stanescu and Jyoti Patel, who had worked together in Flagler Hospitals Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management as well as with Anesthesia Associates, Inc Both physicians, who are board-certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management, have extensive training and experience in the treatment of persons suffering from acute and chronic pain. The scope of the practice involves the evaluation and treatment of individuals in pain and serves patients in both the in-and out-patient settings. Following the evaluation of a patients current condition, review of diagnostic, radiologic and laboratory findings, interpretation of historical information and considering all relevant medical, psychological and sociological factors, a plan of treatment is developed as indicated. The physicians may utilize a variety of interventional management techniques as well as medication management and referrals to other health care provides such as counselors and rehabilitation therapists.
