CommonWealth REIT has a large concentration of properties leased to the United States Government and medical related tenants. It also owns approximately 10 million square feet of leased commercial and industrial lands located in Oahu, Hawaii. In total, CommonWealth REIT owns approximately $6.8 billion of office and industrial properties with approximately 67.5 million square feet located in 30 states and Washington, D.C. CommonWealth REIT was founded in 1986 as a REIT that owned health care related properties. CommonWealth REIT has headquarters in Newton, Mass.
