Bladium Sports Club has beautifully restored an old Navy hanger into a multifaceted sports center. Since 2001 at its Alameda location, and in the bay area since 1996, Bladium has served as a sports arena for soccer and hockey leagues, hosted sports-centered birthday parties, offered gym memberships with full access to the entire facility, run Group X classes with pilates and yoga workouts, offered boxing training, and taught rock-climbing with a 35-foot wall and a 10-foot boulder. Upstairs in the facility, overlooking the entire grounds, is a sports bar, complete with flat-screen televisions, food and alcohol. Bladium Sports Club proudly promotes its unique combination of children and adults as a family-oriented gym in which children take gymnasium classes and interact in numerous athletic activities at the same time as their parents use the facility. For kids 8 & up, there is also a Kid's Club room, which has flat-screen televisions and Nintendo Wiis with interactive games, a karaoke system and parentally controled computers.

The school enrolls approximately 400-500 permanent students at any given time, in more than a hundred weekly individual and group classes. West-Wind offers a $100 Karate Kid special and encourages all Alamedans to train in "the Way of the White Tiger."
