"I'm the only show in town," Beekman violin owner/operator Steve Beekman says, petting his recently adopted mascot, Cassie. Beekman is a man of passion. He began learning his trade as an apprentice and spent 15 years attending school part time during summers to run his business today.

Artists' Exchange is a vital part of Cranston's cultural scene. A nonprofit arts collaborative, it houses The Black Box Theatre, art studios, gallery space, a boutique and cafe.
Located in the center of Rolfe Square, Artists' Exchange is always bustling, with art classes, summer camps, birthday parties and events during the day and music, theatre, art and performances at night.
Fall starts the new season at 2nd Story Theatre, both a performing arts theater and an actor's workshop studio that offers intense training and study for the serious actor. The theatre provides a small and intimate setting which makes every seat in the house excellent so don't worry about seatin: it is first come, first served but every seat is great.
It season is comprised of a few different shows, so you're bound to find something interesting all year long. 2nd Story Theatre has wonderful actors and actresses and a great selection of performances each season. Each show includes dinner downstairs, and the meal compliments the performance quite nicely.
During the show, popcorn is provided in little blue pails as well as wine, beer and non-alcoholic drinks in its small café for the night show performances.
After closing in 2003, Theatre by the Sea reopened under new ownership and management in 2007. Since then, the theatre has added more shows to its running season during the summer months. In 2010 the company performed A Chorus Line, Little Shop of Horrors, The Full Monty and Hello, Dolly! starring Tony Award winner Cady Huffman. Vintage stars like Marlon Brando, May West and Marilyn Monroe have all appeared here.
The Fine Arts Center at URI hosts a variety of musical concerts open to the public, students and faculty. Performers include the URI Alumni Wind Ensemble, the Southern New England Honor Band and more. Classes for URI's Music Department also are here.
Edwards Auditorium at the University of Rhode Island hosts many performances, seminars and lectures open to both URI students and faculty, as well as the public. There also are classrooms used for university courses in this building.
Located in the 1896 Washington County Courthouse, the Courthouse Center for the Arts has been providing education and entertainment in a multitude of art forms since 1988. The former courthouse had been abandoned by the State of Rhode Island, until the founding members raised enough money to renovate the historic landmark. Since its opening, the Courthouse Center for the Arts has kept a busy schedule ranging from art galleries to live theatrical performances to concerts.
