About Carol Opalisky: Carol is a licensed board certified cosmetologist with more than 35 years of experience. She is also a professional wig consultant and artist. Carol started her career as a stylist in Harrisburg before moving to an upscale salon in State College, PA. Carol gained much of her professional experience by serving on an educational team, teaching styling and cutting techniques to her peers and local community groups. After spending several years as the owner of the Cutting Co. in State College, she met her husband, Michael, owner of Chic Hair Design. Since joining the Chic team, shes developed a passion for working with wigs, and has had extensive training in the artistry of hair replacement. Carol was honored by Fox News for her work as an "Unsung Hero" in the community. The belief that all wigs are expensive is simply untrue. Wigs, like any piece of apparel, vary in price depending on the materials and craftsmanship. They can cost as little as $50 or more than $3, 000. Some insurance companies will allow you to claim your wig. Ask your doctor to write a prescription for a "hair prosthesis, " and ask your wig professional to state the same on the sales receipt. You may want to do this at tax time as well. Our experienced wig consultants are sensitive to your needs and will do everything they can to show you an area where you will have privacy. In addition, they can help you select a style and color thats right for you, demonstrating how to put on a wig and instruct you in easy wig care methods.
