Paper Lantern is the brainchild of Lindsay Whiting, a publishing industry veteran and a longtime Sonoma resident. Through Paper Lantern, Whiting produces her nationally sold greeting cards and one-sided prints, inscribed with quotes from Lao-Tzu and Rumi. Paper Lantern also opperates as a small-press publishing house and consultancy, specializing in art books, artist retrospectives and portfolios. Depending on the author's needs, Paper Lantern will edit, design, consult on, or, in some instances, publish small-scale batches of books. Whiting also hosts seminars on self-publishing and small-scale publishing at various times throughout the year. Recently Whiting authored and published "Living Into Art," a retrospective of the practice and work of the Sonoma College Studio.
Paper Moon is housed in a bright storefront in the shopping complex at the corner of West Napa Street and 5th Street West. It is a retail store that sells paper goods of all types, including greeting cards, stationery and themed home decor.
