The Edina Fire Department is a public safety agency that works to protect the lives and property of citizens and visitors of the city of Edina, Minn. It is responsible for extinguishing fires, providing paramedic and advanced life support medical services, educating the community on fire prevention issues and maintaining firefighting equipment and fire department facilities. The Edina Fire Department also enforces laws and ordinances pertaining to fire safety. It has a staff of more than 30 full-time firefighters and paramedics, as well as over 10 volunteer firefighters. Additionally, the department operates a fire prevention bureau that reviews building plans and conducts inspections and meets with businesses and homeowners to discuss fire prevention and safety.
