FORT FAIRFIELD UTILITIES DISTRICT Fort Fairfield Utilities District was organized pursuant to the Private and Special Laws of the State of Maine in 1947, as subsequently amended. The District is quasi-municipal and provides sewer and water services to residential and commercial customers located within the urban area of Fort Fairfield, Maine. A Board of Trustees is appointed by the Fort Fairfield Town Council for staggered three-year terms to manage the District. The District obtains its water supply from two sources, one is surface water from Pattee Brook and the second is ground water from a gravel-packed well on site at the treatment facility. The District maintains a filtration plant for treating the surface water, a pump station, and a maintenance facility along with transportation and excavation equipment.
