The American Legion was founded in 1919 as a venue through which veterans could continue to serve their country and community. The Legion provides service activities, group events and youth outreach. This location is one of 800 in Pennsylvnia. The building itself is available for rent for both members and non members hosting parties of up to 80 people. The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic family service organization. The Pittsburgh chapter has 35 councils with over 4,000 members. Membership is open to practicing Catholic men in union with the Holy See. They must be at least 18 years old. Members enjoy 12 free issues of Columbia magazine, the largest Catholic family magazine in the world.
