The Henry M Jackson Foundation was founded in 1983 to continue the unfinished work of the late Senator Henry M. The College Success Foundation, also known as CSF, administers five scholarship programs. Established in 2000, it works in partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to offer achievers scholarships and mentoring support to more than 450 low-income students per year. The foundation has granted over 4000 scholarships and raised nearly $300 million. The College Success Foundation offers the GEAR UP program, which encourages schools, colleges, universities and community-based organizations to help students stay in school and pursue collegiate-level studies. The foundation works with hometown and college mentors who help students to prepare for college life. It provides academic advising, leadership development, test preparation and after-school programs through the HERO Initiative. The College Success Foundation manages the selection process for the Get Ready for Math and Science Conditional Scholarship program.
