Fun and Private Setting Northwind Lodge guests have within their own walking distance things to do and see that simply are not available at other resorts. There is a distinctive feeling of privacy that isnt always present at other resorts. Northwind Lodge owns about 3500 ft of rustic lakeshore on Jasper lake.The entire north shore of Jasper Lake is Minnesota state land and there are only a few folks living down the shore ( east ) from us. Fortunately, our lake, Jasper, is blessed with good neighbors who respect the lake for its size ( 195 acres ) and we really dont experience the noise and distractions associated with water skiing, personal watercraft or other such activities which are generally found on larger lakes. Likewise, Northwind Lodge and our resort guests prefer to pursue quieter activities such as fishing kayaking, canoeing, water biking, and paddleboats. Unfortunately, we are unable to control overly-excited, whooping guests immediately after they land a 4.5 lb. ( or larger ) smallmouth ( or other fish ) of their lifetime. We apologize in advance for any potentially off-color language that may slip out while catching ones breath after 10 minutes of rod-doubling, heart-pounding, screaming-drag-adrenaline surges that run through the boat. Fortunately, if ones reel catches fire as the drag plays out, we offer the biggest area selection of fishing reels in our very unique store, Red Rock which also serves as our lodge office and check in. Sometimes these things cant be helped when the right-sized fish happens along. The past several years have proven excellent fishing for many Jasper Lake visitors.
