The Framingham Fire Department is responsible for firefighting, emergency response, medical response, fire safety training and awareness programs, inspections, fire prevention programs, brush burning permits, code enforcements and review plans, and it provides safety education. The Department's mission is to "prevent disastrous incidents from occurring and to minimize damage to life, property and the environment." Framingham has five fire houses, including the headquarters station.
