Chicopee Savings Bank is a Massachusetts state chartered, mutual savings bank and is a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Depositors Insurance Fund (DIF). As members of the FDIC and DIF, all customers deposits are fully insured. The first $100,000 per depositor is insured by FDIC; all deposits above this amount are insured by the DIF. Chicopee Savings Bank was founded in 1854 and opened for business on March 6 of that year. Chicopee Savings has teamed up with NOVA Information Systems to offer merchant payment processing services. NOVA is the nation s fourth largest payment processor, providing transaction-processing services to more than 400,000 merchant locations throughout the United States. NOVA provides transaction-processing support for all major credit and charge cards, including VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diner s Club, and JCB, as well as access to debit card processing and check verification services.
