The commission works with the Department of State on international postal policies. The Postal Rate Commission prevents cross-subsidization and other anticompetitive postal practices. It operates through accountability and compliance and public affairs and government relations units. In addition, the Postal Rate Commission is composed of an inspector general and commissioners.
