All About West Hill ShopWest Hill Shop has sold bicycles, nordic skis, and everything related in Putney, Vermont, since 1971, when Neil Quinn founded the shop ( along with three guys named Bob and their spouses ). When Neil decided to retire in 2004, Diny and Jim Sweitzer of Putney bought the shop.Today the West Hill Shop continues as a low-key, friendly source for bikes, equipment, service, rentals, advice, good places to ride and cross-country ski, racing results, touring information, snow conditions, and much more, with superb mechanics, professional bike fitters and ski-tuners. Our staff has years of experience at wrenching, tuning XC skis, matching cyclists with the right bike, finding the right brake pads or picking the perfect wax. Our crew includes Dan Burwinkel, Pip Bannister, and Xaviar Duke.We sponsor a local bicycle club, Putney Bicycle Club, which has a wide variety of road and mountain bike rides from spring to late fall. We are home to several cyclocross fanatics, including a national cyclocross champion, so we host cyclocross training rides in the fall, as well as the annual West Hill Shop Cyclocross Race. Over the winter of 2005/2006, we added more retail and shop space. Check out some of the construction process ! The shop has been home for legends such as Captain Dondo and Jim Langley. Triple T Trucking was founded in Brattleboro by Larry Titus in the mid 1960s. The company name comes from Mr. Titus who had three sons all had first names beginning with the letter T. In 1974 Mr. Titus sold the business to Norman and Mary Mallory. Norman had purchased the business for his father Charlie to run. Charlie past away suddenly and was never able to ran the company. Norman was forced to leave his employment as a builder to take over the operation of Triple T where he continues to this day. As you can imagine Triple T has evolved and grown since 1974. One constant is the continued effort to provide innovative, efficient, and flexible services meeting our customers needs. From the early days of cardboard recycling, offering the areas first front load container service, the first local roll off service, too todays innovative industry leading collection of source separated organics. We strive to provide local solutions that make sense both financially and environmentally. While we strive for innovation to meet our customers changing needs. We have not forgetting the personal service of yester year. No call centers here from who knows where. No answering machine during the work day not to mention voice mail.
