The Coventry Police Department has been an active force since the 1930s and currently consists of 60 sworn officers and a professional staff of 17 employees. The Traffic, School Resource, K-9, SWAT and Animal Control units are all stationed out of the department. The department is home to the Records Division, which controls the release of public records; VIN checks are also performed here.
