SJB Services is a full-service geotechnical and environmental testing and consulting company operating seven offices in New York and one office in Pennsylvania. A multi-disciplinary organization with a team of more than 150 personnel that includes engineering technicians, drillers and administrative staff, SJB offers subsurface exploration, construction monitoring and materials testing, geotechnical laboratory testing and nondestructive testing. SJB Services was established in April 1992 to provide contract drilling (geotechnical/environmental) and construction testing services to clients throughout New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as other areas within the Northeast. In September 2000, SJB Services acquired Maxim Technologies of New York. Maxim was founded originally as Empire Soils Investigations in 1953 at Ithaca, N.Y., as an independent testing laboratory specializing in subsurface investigations, geotechnical engineering and construction quality assurance services.
