St. Marks is a Total Common Ministry Congregation of the Diocese of Olympia, Episcopal Church in Western Washington. Like most Episcopal churches, were a family-sized congregation. However, unlike traditional Episcopal churches, our clergy are locally trained, side by side with other leaders called by the congregation to serve. In Total Common Ministry, we "unpack the one man band, " the hierarchical model of ministry. We believe that we are gathered to be a ministering community, rather than a community gathered around a minister. This transformative model, rooted in our Baptismal Covenant, stresses that every member of the body has been given gifts, and has been called to serve God and community in a particular way. Of our six regular preachers, two are members of the congregation who are not ordained but who have been licensed by the Bishop to serve in this way, two are deacons and two are ordained priests. Having many preachers means that we have a rich variety of voices and perspectives in the pulpit. Having many clergy members is an outward and visible sign of the importance of the sacraments in our w orship.

St. Johns Episcopal Church has been offering Gods love to the community since January 8, 1922. Founded in the burgeoning community of Kirkland, St. Johns offers worship, study, fellowship and service to enrich the body, soul and spirit. The present building consists of the Nave ( the church itself ), parish hall with classrooms and a portable like structure that houses the parish office. The people of St. Johns include folks from all walks of life who gather as an offering of love to God and to the world. Rooted in the Anglican tradition, St. Johns is a member of the Diocese of Olympia, which includes all of Western Washington. The diocese is served by the Rt. Rev. Gregory Rickel, Bishop Diocesan. St. Johns is a community of faith that believes that God works with us and through us to build a strong Christian foundation for our lives. Our mission is "To know Christ ; to walk with Him ; to make Him known". Everyone who comes through the doors--newcomer or old-timer--is at a different place in a journey of faith. We are committed to helping everyone examine his or her values, strengths and needs, to find ways we can grow, both individually, and as a congregation and in reaching out in compassion to the community.
