St. Paul's Episcopal Church is firmly fixed to Wallingford's town center and the town's history, reaching back to 1868 when the church's cornerstone was laid for the brownstone gothic structure, we see on Main St. today. Originally, the church was known as Union Church, but by 1761 had come to be known as St. Paul's Espiscopal Church. The church celebrated its 250th anniversary in 1991.

The congregation averages close to 1,000 individuals with ties to Wallingford, as well as outlying towns. The church has a full offering of youth, adult and family programs, including Bible study and fellowship, and community outreach. Sunday's 10am music and choir service is broadcast on cable television and online. A thrift shop is located at the back of the church and is open Thursday through Saturday, from 10am to 1pm.

St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church has a long history in the Yalesville section of Wallingford. Located at its current site since 1869, the original structure was torn down in 1960. The distinctive A-Frame you see today on Church Street was rebuilt in 1960 on the original foundation. St. John the Evangelist boasts a small but dedicated congregation. It has been independent since 1980.
