Granger Container Services is a Christian, family-owned business performing environmental management-related services in and around Lansing, Mich. Founded in 1959 as a construction business, which now operates independently, Granger has evolved to include Granger Container Services, Granger Electric Company, Granger Waste Management Company and Granger Recycling Centers. Granger has grown from a small hauling company to a comprehensive solid waste service firm. Granger was the first in the area to offer rubbish cart collection, the first and only large-scale composting facility in Mid-Michigan, the first Type II landfill facility using synthetic liners, the first 24-hour public drop off center for recyclable materials, the first operational gas recovery project in the state, and the first landfill to use windmills in leachate collection systems.
