For more than 30 years, Ventana Wildlife Society focuses to conserve native wildlife and their habitats in California. Located at, Monterey, Calif., the organization conducts a number of programs, such as summer camps, condor camp, nature classes and single day adventure programs. Additionally, it organizes discovery center visit, condor sanctuary visit, song bird tours and more for adults. The society is responsible for species recovery project, including reintroduction of Bald Eagle to Central California and works on restoring endangered Condors. It also conducts research/monitoring of bird population through bird banding station. Ventana Wildlife Society also helps restore forests by planting trees/shrubs and conserve condor population by adopt-a-condor program.

Our mission is clear: To conserve the significant lands and waters of Californias Central Coast for all generations. Working with private and public partners, The Big Sur Land Trust has successfully conserved more than 30, 000 acres of shoreline, wildlife habitat, streams, forests, grasslands, rangelands and riparian corridors. Generous members and donors who support the Land Trusts efforts are ensuring that thousands of acres of trails, beaches, woodlands, pastures and forests are protected today to be enjoyed by future generations. Under its current leadership, The Big Sur Land Trust has expanded its scope and impact by introducing innovative approaches to conservation work and by developing a wide network of community partners to engage in these efforts. Our Countys communities interact with and connect to our regions lands and waters in many different ways as hikers and ranchers, children and property owners, as field workers, campers, farmers and researchers and our goal and commitment at the Land Trust is to pursue resource conservation that supports the well-being of land and people and sustains our regions unique quality of life for us all.
