Founded in 1978, Southeast Energy Assistance is a nonprofit organization that provides a variety of weatherization services. The organization, also known as SEA, offers home repair services to save energy and reduce environmental hazards. It also provides in-home energy counseling. Additionally, Southeast Energy Assistance offers reading materials on energy conserving lifestyle changes. The organization has helped more than 36,000 people through the weatherization, Care and Conserve and Integrated Resources Program. Its programs promote water conservation, the replacement of damaged exterior doors and installation of weather stripping and caulking. The organization serves people living at the poverty level, as well as senior citizens and handicapped people. Southeast Energy Assistance is located in Atlanta.
