The Family Learning Center offers classes in language arts writing, reading, social studies, science and mathematics. It administers the English for Speakers of Other Languages program. The center also conducts Workplace Education Program that includes GED classes for the employees of local companies. The Family Learning Center offers on-site child care occupational training services. It provides free adult-education programs for economically disadvantaged families, refugees and adults. The center is a part of the Rochester City School District, which serves more than 34,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Its schools have drama clubs and offer opportunities for students to participate in several sports activities.
