Cary Academy, founded in 1996, is an independent, coeducational college preparatory day school offering educational instruction to students in grades six through 12. Its more than 50-acre campus includes a middle school, upper school, student center, sports and fitness center, media and administration building, fine arts building and the sports and education annex. Located in Cary, N.C., the academy s academic program includes English, mathematics, science, history, foreign languages, art, music, theater and dance. It is based on the trimester system with a two-week break between trimesters. The academy s library has a collection of more than 18,000 items, including books, videos, DVDs, music and CD-ROMS. It also subscribes to more than 70 periodicals and has over five online resources. It also provides need-based financial aid and opportunity to students to participate in various sports. Cary Academy is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and Southern Association of Independent Schools.
