Eastern Suffolk BOCES, based in Patchogue, N.Y., provides a range of programs and services to component school districts, as well as to school-age and adult students. The organization, established in 1948, comprises school districts that combine their purchasing power. Each district shares the costs of services and programs through the BOCES by paying a percentage of the total cost. The institution offers a variety of adult education programs, such as clinical medical assistant, dental assistant, electrocardiogram technician and medical office billing. It also offers programs in medical terminology, nurse assistant and phlebotomy. Eastern Suffolk BOCES is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and is a nonprofit organization.
