The Sacramento Police Department works in partnership with the community to protect life and property, solve neighborhood problems and enhance the quality of life in the city. Its operation office provides patrol and crime prevention services and operates specialty parole intervention, canine, marine, mounted and air operation units. The department s investigation office arrests criminal offenders, processes warrants, recovers stolen properties, investigates crime scenes, tracks gang-related activities, locates missing persons and addresses family violence issues. The Sacramento Police Department also maintains a technical services office that oversees training programs. Located in Sacramento, Calif., the department additionally operates a multijurisdictional office that develops regional and agency terrorism response plans and organizes volunteers to assist with disaster situations.
