Founded in 1955, Friends Outside National Organization is a nonprofit, community-based organization that provides support services for individuals and families affected by incarceration. It offers parenting, family reunification and fatherhood programs. The organization provides education, case management, crisis intervention, local assistance and child care services. It additionally offers peer counseling, job training, skill development, transportation, mentoring, legal information and referral services. The organization also provides daily newspapers, bus passes, clothing, and emergency food and shelter. It has offices in more than 30 states throughout the United States. Friends Outside National Organization maintains one of its offices in Stockton, Calif.
