Dr. John M. Clarke was educated in the public schools of Norfolk, Virginia and was admitted to the University of Virginia, where he majored in French. By attending summer session, he was also able to complete the science requirements for Medical School in three years. He was one of only two students admitted to the School of Medicine that year without an undergraduate degree. After graduating from Medical School, Dr. Clarke began a Surgery Residency at the University of Florida. After one year, he entered the US Air Force and was assigned to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Service at an Air Force Hospital, where he practiced that specialty until returning to the University of Florida to complete his Surgery training. He was also an attending surgeon at Shands Teaching Hospital until his transfer to the US Air Force Hospital at Andrews Air Force Base, Washington, DC. While there he obtained additional experience and training in Thoracic and Vascular surgery. He was a rated Flight Surgeon and rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel before returning to the University of Florida to complete his surgery training. He went on to obtain additional experience and training in thoracic and vascular surgery.

Christopher Wilson, DO, FACC is originally from Long Island, New York. He received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Albany. He received his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York, where he also completed a 1-year Neuroscience and Histology fellowship. Dr. Wilson then moved to St. Petersburg, Florida where he completed Internal Medicine Internship and Residency training at the Northside Hospital and Tampa Bay Heart Institute, a clinical campus for the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to his final year of residency, he was selected as Chief Resident. He then went on to complete a 3-year fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at The Northside Hospital and Tampa Bay Heart Institute. Dr Wilson throughout his years of training has served on several advisory committees and has been published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr Wilson is a general and invasive/non-interventional cardiologist whose practice includes adult general cardiology, trans-esophageal and 2-D echocardiography, as well as diagnostic nuclear cardiology. He has special interests in heart failure treatment and prevention as well as cardiac disease prevention. Dr Wilson has an active interest in education, frequently providing didactic programs and lectures for nurses, students, and physicians, as well as an involvement in community outreach programs. Dr Wilson is currently Board Certified by the AOBIM in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He is a member in-good-standing of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).

Dr. Marshall Marcus is a cardiac electrophysiologist (EP) who is board certified in cardiovascular diseases and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). He was born and raised in central Florida but his education has taken him around the world. He holds a bachelor?s degree in physics and astronomy from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He then studied medicine at the Sackler school of medicine / American program at Tel Aviv University where he earned his doctorate degree in medicine (MD). Following medical school he completed residency at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University / Sinai Hospital of Baltimore program in internal medicine - home of the first implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD). He returned to Florida to complete fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the University of South Florida. He then did two years of advanced fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Florida in Jacksonville and at Lenox Hill Hospital and Northshore University Hospital in New York. He trained to performed complex catheter ablation for cardiac arrhythmias, pacemaker implantation, defibrillator implantation, and laser lead extraction under the mentorship of Dr. Laurence Epstein, a world renowned pioneer in lead extraction. Dr. Marcus speaks Spanish, Hebrew and Italian. For recreation Dr. Marcus enjoys traveling, cycling, racquetball, and water sports.

He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. Dr. Cardona graduated medical school from the University Central del Caribe in his homeland of Puerto Rico and then completed his Internal Medicine and Cardiology Fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh and University of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Robert Sanchez, MD, FACC joined the Heart and Vascular Institute of Florida in 2002 after being in practice in Pinellas County since 1991. Dr. Sanchez received his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in New York in 1981 graduating with high honors. He obtained his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in 1985. He completed his internship and residency training in internal medicine as well as his fellowship training in cardiovascular diseases at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY. Dr. Sanchez is a non-invasive cardiologist whose practice includes general adult cardiology, congestive heart failure and non-invasive cardiovascular imaging. Dr. Sanchez?s area of clinical expertise is in preventive cardiology with an emphasis on the management of complex lipid and cardiometabolic disorders. He is a frequent lecturer on cardiovascular disease prevention in the Tampa Bay area. Dr. Sanchez has participated in several industry-funded clinical trials as principal or sub-investigator. Dr. Sanchez is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Lilian Ahiable earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Ross University School of Medicine. She went on to complete an Internship and an Internal Medicine Residency with the Drexel University College of Medicine.
